The Circuit Of Monza
The Italian Grand Prix takes place at Monza Circuit. Each lap is 5.893 kilometres long. Monza’s race track is one of the oldest F1 racetracks on the F1 calendar.
This iconic track was built in 1992 and is still used for F1. The first race was in 1923. This track is also famous because this is the track where Michael Schumacher announced that he was leaving Ferrari enabling Felipe Massa to stay. This year Felipe Massa announced his retirement in Monza because he thought it would be symbolic to do it at the same track that Schumacher made his announcement.
This year it looks like Mercedes is going to be the race winner. This track will fit Williams Martini Racing very well because you will need good straight line speed and they have lots of it. This will be good for Williams to finish the race as the third best team.
This year’s race was definitely not one of the most exciting races at Monza. The start was unfortunate for Lewis Hamilton due to bad wheel spin. Nico, Vettel and Kimi all had good starts and were able to get in front of Lewis.
Unfortunately the rest of the race was as boring as boring can be. The only exciting thing was that the two McLaren’s had a battle that lasted around one lap. Daniel Ricciardo was catching Bottas for 5th place. He manged to get a slipstream on the last turn and closed down on Bottas. He dived down the inside, broke late and managed to overtake Bottas.

On the podium the Ferrari fans were supporting Vettel like crazy. It was not the most exciting race but the number of people who were Ferrari fans was unbelievable.
